Ashley Tisdale is set to return as ‘High School Musical’ character Sharpay Evans in a new spin-off film in the franchise, called ‘Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure’.

The actress will return to the Disney channel for the film ‘Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure’, a spin-off from the original ‘High School Musical’ franchise. The movie is set to be filmed this summer and will be released next year.

Ashley, 24, is set also be executive producer of the movie, and will be the only returning original member of the ‘High School Musical’ cast.

The plot will see Sharpay and her dog, Boi, make their way from fictional school East High to Broadway after being spotted by talent scouts, and while she is trying to make her way as a theatre star, she will meet her match in a rival starlet.

Gary Marsh, chief creative officer, of Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement: “In Sharpay, Ashley Tisdale brought to life one of the most memorable comedic characters we’ve seen in years. This movie captures the absolutely perfect next chapter in Sharpay’s life, as she tries to cultivate the humanity buried, deep, deep within her – a challenging and hilarious endeavour.”

Ashley’s last Disney film, 2008’s ‘High School Musical3: Senior Year’, took more than $250 million at the box office worldwide.

The young actress has since starred in ‘Aliens In The Attic’ as well as releasing two pop albums, ‘Headstrong’ in 2007 and ‘Guilty Pleasure’ in 2009.

ASHLEY TISDALE is set to reprise her HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL character – for a movie spin-off.

The 24 year old has played snooty Sharpay Evans in the film franchise’s first three outings, which made stars of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

The fourth instalment is set to feature an all-new cast – but Tisdale will play the teenager again in a movie for the Disney Channel, her representative tells JustJared.com.

Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures will begin shooting this summer (10) and premiere in 2011.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star ASHLEY TISDALE threw a star-studded baby shower for her sister earlier this month (09Jan10) – with guests including VANESSA HUDGENS and HAYLIE DUFF turning out to celebrate the imminent arrival.

Tisdale’s elder sibling Jennifer, 28, is expecting her first child with her husband, restaurant manager Shane MCChesnie, later this month (Jan10).

And her famous sister, 24, was on hand to organise a pre-birth party at her luxurious Los Angeles mansion on 09 January (10) in honour of the mum-to-be.

Tisdale’s High School Musical co-star Hudgens turned out for the bash, along with Duff who became pals with the actress after moving in to the house next door.

Jennifer has already found out she is expecting a baby girl, and has named her unborn daughter Mikayla Dawn.

Disney star ASHLEY TISDALE is adding mogul to her resume – after signing on to create, develop and produce a new U.S. TV series.

The 24-year-old High School Musical star has reached a deal with RelativityReal to develop her first small screen series with her two-year-old production company, Blonde Girl Productions.

She has previously executive produced 2008 film, Picture This.

A spokesperson for RelativityReal says Tisdale stood out from her peers because she is “the very definition of a multitalented artist with unique insight into young demographics”.

Zac Efron threw his ‘High School Musical’ girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens a surprise 21stbirthday with all of her friends in Hollywood.

Zac Efron threw girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens a surprise 21st birthday party on Monday (14.12.09).

The actress thought she was going out for her first legal drink with her boyfriend at a Hollywood restaurant, but he had instead made plans for 100 of their friends to join them at East Restaurant and Lounge.

A guest at the party said: “When she walked in she was completely surprised!”

Revellers including Ashley Tisdale, Selena Gomez, Brittany Snow, and Corbin Bleu greeted her, and DJ Zen Freeman played a mix of hip-hop for the night.

Zac also gave a heartfelt speech wishing Vanessa a very happy birthday and encouraging guests to have a fun night.

A source said: “After she blew out the candles she made a sincere speech thanking everyone again and expressing her love for her family and friends.

“Then the DJ spun Kid Cudi’s remix of ‘Poker Face’ and Vanessa danced with her friends.”

Ashley, Vanessa’s ‘High School Musical’ co-star had previously taken to her personal Twitter page to wish Vanessa a happy birthday.

She wrote: “Its Nessa’s birthday!!! Yay! Goin shopping to get her a present. Woo hoo! (sic)”

‘High School Musical’ star Ashley Tisdale has banned horror movies from her house because they are ”too scary”.

Ashley Tisdale is too afraid to watch horror movies since she began living alone.

The ‘High School Musical’ star can no longer enjoy her favourite creepy films because they leave her unable to sleep.

The 24-year-old actress explained: “I can’t watch scary movies right now, because living on my own, it kind of freaks me out.

“I tend to just watch comedies. As an actress you think I would understand but I have a big imagination and it gets scary.”

Ashley is not the only star who is terrified of scary movies. Cameron Diaz – who stars in upcoming psychological thriller ‘The Box’ – recently revealed she can’t even watch the shorts of frightening films.

The 36-year-old actress said: “You know what terrifies me? Trailers to horror movies!

“I kind of want to look, but I’m always afraid that I’m going to look too long and see the one image that I’m not going to be able to get out of my head for at least a week every night before I’m going to bed.”

I’ve added brand new candids of Ashley on the 21st of January to the gallery. Ashley was spotted trying to get a stealth get away by hiding behind her very fabulous Fendi bag. According to paparazzi, Ashley was seen leaving the recording studio in Burbank, California. Good to see her adding the finishing touches to her album. “I didn’t feel pretty enough. I was just so uncool”, said Tisdale about her teen years. “Back in the day, I had dark, curly hair, and I was always thinking ‘Oh my gosh,’ because all the popular girls in school were blond and beautiful.”

After having to have a nose job because of a deviated septum she said that she would never have that done again.

“I don’t believe in plastic surgery. I really think natural is more beautiful. This was not about changing me. I am comfortable with myself.”
